Privacy Policy — DirahFinder

DirahFinder ("we", "us", "our") operates dirahfinder.com, a marketplace connecting students (bochurim) with landlords offering rental apartments. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Account data: email, display name, password (hashed by our auth provider), and the role you choose (student, landlord, supervisor).
Profile & contact: phone number and contact details you provide. Phone numbers are stored separately from your public profile and only shared with the other party once a rental relationship is established.
Listings: property details, photos, address, location coordinates, and pricing submitted by landlords.
Messages: conversations between students and landlords on the platform.
Payments: publish-fee transactions processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers; Stripe handles card data under PCI-DSS.
Usage data: basic logs (IP, browser, pages visited) used for security and to improve the service.

2. How we use information

To operate the marketplace: account creation, listings, search, messaging.
To process publish-fee payments and prevent fraud.
To send transactional emails (account, payments, notifications).
To enforce our terms and keep the platform safe.
To comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers required to run the platform:

Supabase — database, authentication, and storage.
Stripe — payment processing.
Google Maps — map display and geocoding.
Email delivery providers — transactional email.

We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and property of DirahFinder or its users.

4. Your choices & rights

Edit or remove your profile and listings at any time from your account.
Request access, correction, or deletion of your account by contacting yinonnagen@gmail.com.
Disable browser cookies (note: some features may stop working).

5. Data security

Access to data is enforced by row-level security policies. Phone numbers and other sensitive contact details are kept in a separate, access-controlled table and only revealed to authorized counterparties. Passwords are hashed by our auth provider; we never see them in plain text.

6. Data retention

We retain account, listing, message, and payment records for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. You can request deletion at any time.

7. Children

DirahFinder is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. International users

Data may be processed in countries other than where you live. By using DirahFinder you consent to such processing.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the site. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
